The Chicago Fire is back in Season 11 Episode 8 (titled “A Beautiful Life”). Gallo and Carver clash and exchange insults. Also, Sylvie Brett may have found a new love. This is what happened last time The Chicago Fire.
The group is called to the bus fire
When the team arrived, they found a city bus on fire. They quickly get the passengers and the driver off the bus and start putting out the fire. However, one passenger is still on the bus. The man has passed out and is sitting in the back. Carver (played by Jake Lockett) and Gallo come in to get him. Carver thinks about going back the way he came back, but Gallo says it will take a long time. He breaks the window, and pulls the passenger to safety.
Stella Kidd credits Gallo for his quick thinking. “Hell moves Gallo; that was quick thinking,” he says. However, it is clear that Carver is angry. His pride is ruined because his way was not the best way. When he returns to the firehouse, Gallo is on cloud nine. He says he feels like he has set off a bomb. “Calls like this are why I joined CFD,” he says. Carver is troubled by Gallo’s overconfidence and feels jealous and resentful.
Gallo and Carver have a heated argument
Carver confronts Gallo, and criticizes him for changing the plan during the fire rescue. “I just want to know if you want to make a habit of playing the game and let the rest of us play,” Carver says. Gallo asks what he means, and he tells her that he didn’t appreciate how he changed the way to save. Carver also called Gallo a “fun kid” and accused him of using the job to “get carried away.”
Carver tells him to stop playing the hero and learn to take orders from someone who has done the job a long time. Gallo was upset and told her that he had done her no favors and felt that she had wasted her time trying to get to know him.
Kidd picks up trouble between Carver and Gallo, so he asks what’s wrong. Gallo tells him that Carver “walks around like his place.” He also expressed his disappointment that Kidd did not ask him or Mouch about Carver before hiring him.
Later, Carver, Gallo, and the gang answer a man they thought was trapped on the roof. He later found out that he had locked himself on the roof because he wanted to jump. He was an old man, and he told Gallo that he wanted to end his life because his stores were closing and people were going to lose their jobs. Unfortunately, the man jumped.
Gallo had a hard time dealing with the loss of the person he tried so hard to support. Carver later apologizes to Gallo and invites him to the bar. He assured Gallo that there was nothing more he could do for the man. He also tells Gallo that he is a good fireman and someone he would want by his side in case of danger.
Brett started a new relationship
Violet (played by Hanako Greensmith) and Brett arrive at a children’s hospital and meet a volunteer named Dylan. She hears him tell the nurse that he has clown syndrome so he can’t dress up as a clown. Brett also has a phobia of clowns, so they bond over this.
Violet and Brett also discover that Dylan owns a bar and was a friend of Evan Hawkins, Violet’s boyfriend who died. Violet realizes that Dylan is the person Evan wanted to set Brett up on. It’s clear that Brett likes Dylan but he’s trying not to get too excited about the possibilities.
Violet tells Brett that she feels a connection between them. Brett says he doesn’t know if there’s a connection, but Dylan seems like a good guy. Later, Dylan stops by the firehouse and asks Brett on a date. At first he seems skeptical but he agrees. This could be the beginning of a new love for Brett.
