Frisch is challenging Bobert in a tight race in Colorado
Lauren Bobert has asked for donations to support a possible recount in her Colorado election race against Democrat Adam Frisch.
The Republican’s plea for financial support Friday afternoon comes after he said he was confident he would hold on to his seat, with an unexpected upset race still close.
Asked by reporters if he expects to win Thursday’s race, the incumbent Republican president replied. “Of course, I expect to win. it will be great.”
Ms. Boebert now leads by 1,122 votes in a surprisingly close race for the US House seat in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District.
After trailing for most of the race, the Donald Trump ally surged back into the lead on Thursday, now leading with 50.2 percent of the vote to Mr. Frisch’s 49.8 percent, with 99 percent of the vote.
The race may go to an automatic restart if the winning side does not win by more than 0.5 percent.

Colorado voters decriminalized psychedelic mushrooms
Colorado voters passed a ballot initiative to decriminalize the use of psychoactive mushrooms for people 21 and older and create state-regulated “treatment centers” where patients can monitor the drug.
Colorado becomes the second state, after Oregon, to vote to regulate hallucinogenic substances found in certain mushrooms, such as psilocybin and psilocin. The initiative, which would take effect in 2024, would also allow the advisory board to add other plant-based psychoactive drugs to the program in 2026.
Supporters argued that the state’s current approach to mental health has failed, and that natural psychoactive drugs that have been used for hundreds of years can treat depression, PTSD, anxiety, addiction and other conditions. They also said that jailing people for using naturally occurring substances for a non-violent crime costs taxpayers money.
Critics have warned that the Food and Drug Administration has not approved the substances as drugs. They also argued that allowing “treatment centers” and allowing personal use of drugs would endanger public safety and send the wrong message to children and adults that the substances are healthy.
The move comes a decade after Colorado voted to legalize recreational marijuana after initially allowing its medical use, leading to a multibillion-dollar industry that has seen hundreds of dispensaries spring up across the state.

Bobert asks to recalculate the donations
Lauren Bobert appears to have accepted that her race against Adam Frisch could go into a recount as she asks supporters for donations to help.
“I told you all year that the left would do anything possible to get rid of me,” the Republican tweeted.
“As this race comes down to the last vote, I need you to help us ensure we have the resources to finish what we started.”
The plea for donations came as he was just 0.4 per cent ahead of Mr Frisch at 1pm on Friday.
If the race drops to 0.5 percent, the recalculation will happen automatically.

The Democratic strategist apologized for the “OnlyFans” comment
Democratic strategist Kurt Bardella has apologized after making sexist remarks about Lauren Boebert and video site OnlyFans during a TV interview.
In response to criticism from public health activist Alexandra Hunt, Mr Bardella wrote: “I value your opinion, and when someone from your perspective weighs in, it requires consideration and reflection. I will be more careful with my words in the future. My goal was NEVER to shame women. I apologize. Era.”
He added: “There’s nothing wrong with consensus-only interactions on platforms like OnlyFans. Anyone who suggests otherwise in an attempt to shame or judge really needs to examine their own perception of women and their autonomy.”
In conclusion, he wrote: “So I have zero appetite for the fake outrage coming from MAGA because we all know they’re not talking about sexism, misogyny or equality. They are hypocrites of the first order. Just look at their flag bearer.’
