What kind of jewelry are the hottest men in America wearing these days? Here is the time JCK:, we have a good warning. That’s because earlier this month we attended a party in the hills above Bel Air, California, hosted by fashion e-tailer Mr Porter, and the shindig provided an unbeatable picture of how LA’s tastemakers decorate themselves. In short, think beaded bracelets, diamond studded links, studded stones and lots and lots of color.
The well-dressed crowd included actors (Brett Gelman Stranger Things fame), fashion insiders (The Elder Statesmen’s Greg Chait), photographers (Carlos Eric Lopez), artists (James Akai) and jewelers (Maor Cohen), all of whom have at least one satirical trait;
The party marked the launch of Mr. Porter’s “In America” campaign, a three-week coast-to-coast initiative and capsule collection designed to highlight American menswear today.
In addition to the fashion brands featured in the collection (Tom Ford, Gallery Dept. and Rhude, to name a few), several jewelry labels including Luis Morais, Greg Yuna, Polite Worldwide and Jacquie Aiche contributed. range, all championing American craftsmanship and creativity.
The collection includes the requisite beaded bracelets that have been a staple of men’s jewelry displays for years (Louis Morais’ gold, gemstone and enamel bracelets are included).
What’s new, however, are more elaborate, colorful necklaces, such as the pop culture-inspired styles from Los Angeles-based sustainable luxury brand Polite Worldwide, whose hemp leaf and cartoon charms add irreverence to its ball necklaces and bracelets.
Beverly Hills, California-based designer Jacqui Eishe has presented a charming collection of fashion jewelry designs featuring desert scenes that look like paintings. He complemented the pieces with his new watch line, developed in collaboration with Timex, which debuted last week and is already sold out.
The most luxurious pieces of Mr Porter’s In America collection belong to New York-based jeweler Gregg. Yuna:. His heavy gold chain bracelets, long gold bead necklaces, and a spectacular Charmers bracelet in white gold, featuring over 16 carats of blue sapphires in a medley of gorgeous shapes, are dazzling reminders that modern American men’s style is masculine, bold, and refreshingly colorful.
